Cambodia: A brief guide
Cambodia
Mysterious Cambodia is a holiday destination that will captivate you. This is the land to explore hidden temples and palaces, mountain ranges, dense forest, traditional tribes in rural villages unchanged for hundreds of years, exciting cities and stunning scenery.
You can explore the vibrant city of Phnom Penh with its lively night-markets, great restaurants and friendly people. Or perhaps take a long boat up the Mekong Delta to see the fishing communities along the banks. Or visit the floating villages on Tonle Sap.
But one things is for sure - you cannot miss seeing some of the most awe-inspiring buildings on the planet - the temple complex at Angkor Wat. It takes days to wander round stunning temples and lily-covered waterways soaking up the atmosphere. If you have plenty of time you should visit the temples elsewhere such as the mysterious Ta Prohm (featured in the Tomb Raider film) which is slowly being reclaimed by forest. This is the land of the ancient Khmer culture who built huge temple complexes many of which are still hidden away in the lush forests and hills of Cambodia.
